The site early Saturday morning. The sun shone on the NMH barn raising on Saturday, and all seven massive bents were raised successfully.
Laura Brown of Norwell, Mass., works on some of the 84 rafters that need to be cut for the barn's roof. In the background, the 7 bents lay atop each other like dominoes, assembled and ready for the crane raising about to begin.
A group of NMH students get their marching orders from Sam Kelly, NMH Student Liaison.
ED Joel McCarty asks for silence and hat removal for the traditional pre-raising prayer for a safe raising.
The first bent rises.
