Local News Coverage: Raising Day

Day 8 Report

A very long and unusually hot day for our team. In the cool of the morning, Don Seela and his son Tim came out very early and set up tables filled with temptations for the tool-deprived. It took quite a while, but after the tool-lust was sated, we had a very productive day of cutting, moving, and laying out; all stumbling forward toward our goal of a hand-raising on July 21.

Jim Campbell and I took off in the middle of the day to address the New Carlisle (OH) chapter of the Sertoma Club. Jim and I made our presentations, and took a gratifying number of questions, while our companions toiled under a hot sun back at the site.

The exhausted crew was revived by a fantastic hot meal of northern beans, cornbread and ham, served up by our kitchen champions, the brother and sister act of Sharon and Mark.
