There are also specialty conferences held throughout the year, like the Traditional Timber Framing Symposium scheduled each year in the Spring. LinksWe present a short, but high-quality, list of related Web sites for you to pursue your own interests in timber framing. More resources are contained in our online FAQs. PublicationsThe Guild produces two publications for the members: The high-quality quarterly Timber Framing, and the more newsy Scantlings, appearing eight times a year.3D DesignsHere is a perfect application of Web technology, as you can walk through, spin, and rotate a timber frame in 3D. All you need is the latest version of Netscape or Explorer to view the frames. ToolsIn this section, Ed Levin, Ken Rower, and Rees Acheson have collaborated to provide Excel and Lotus spreadsheets of Hawkindale angle calculations. We are working on providing a way for our members to calculate stresses on wood beams. WorkshopsTo learn more, you have numerous opportunities with hands-on workshops offered both by the Guild and the member companies. You will not only learn how to create with your hands, but you will also have fun. We can almost guarantee it! |
